Update June 26th

I wanted to get away from the mud slinging for a while and post some pics and Video of Ben's 601XL. He allowed us to use to test the new Rear setup (Thank you Ben).
We built the engine at Bill Clapp's and ran it on his test stand for about 2 hours at 1,700 RPM's and a few minutes at 3,000. The temps were in line and the rear starter system showed no signs of problems. Here are a few Video's of that.

We loaded up the truck and headed to Englewood FL. where we removed Ben's engine and installed the New engine and here is the first start.... Scott was so excited he forgot to go push in the mixture.

This Video is of the Tie down 2 minute static test run before we take the plane for it's first flight with the new engine.

With that out of the way Scott takes the plane for a test flight and it did well enough that he made the call to well just watch the video....

The first stop on the way back to Ky was at Bill Clapp's place to give everything a once over before continuing on. We found the front seal to have a small leak due to pitting on the steel. We didn't use any oil to speak of and it was just annoying at best so we decided to push on. The next video is of Bill clapp and Scott going for a short flight.

The next Video is of Scott and I taking off... Bill was going to take some air to air shots of the 601 but not to long into the flight the oil temps were climbing and I told Scott we needed to return to the airport. We were at gross and Scott and Bill had just returned from their flight and the OAT was reaching 95 degrees so I aired on the side of caution and we aborted the flight. The engine wasn't loosing power and the temps never exceeded 260 in the engine but we wern't climbing all that great so I made the call.
